London, UK – May 10, 2016 – TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced that it has received the highest score by Gartner in two out of three use cases in the analyst firm’s “Critical Capabilities for Software Test Automation” report. The report assessed the technical capabilities of 12 software test automation solution providers, and TestPlant scored highest in both the Mobile Applications and Responsive Design use case categories. The report is available on Gartner.com.

“We are thrilled to be recognized with the highest scores in two out of three use cases in Gartner’s latest software test automation report, which we believe is a testament to how eggPlant tools are helping achieve greater levels of automation for digital transformation,” said Antony Edwards, TestPlant CTO. “The eggPlant tools are used in DevOps, agile and traditional development environments to help digital businesses be more productive and make significant time-to market improvements – all of which results in better quality software and improved user experience (UX).”

TestPlant’s eggPlant product range provides a suite of easy-to-use software test automation tools that helps companies deliver high quality enterprise and mobile applications quickly and consistently. eggPlant’s patented, image-based approach to functional testing allows its customers to test their applications non-intrusively and from a true user perspective, and its powerful performance testing and network emulation products allow developers to easily test applications under a range of conditions.

eggPlant Functional is TestPlant’s functional test automation tool, and provides powerful capabilities for testing mobile applications and responsive web design. In the report, eggPlant Functional scored highly on several of Gartner’s critical capabilities, including cross-platform testing, cross-browser testing and real device testing. In addition, the product scored well in its “match to nontechnical role skills”, which highlights the tool’s ease of use and its ability to be used by anyone, not just developers.

“Our customers in banking, retail, media and healthcare are all concerned about the delivery of robust on-line and mobile services. eggPlant is now the best tool to build a better user experience”, said George Mackintosh, TestPlant CEO. “Everyone in TestPlant is delighted to be regarded as the leader in software test automation.”
