Latest version of test management tool introduces dynamic SUT discovery, instant VM creation and integration with iOS and Android gateways
London, UK – April 29, 2016 – TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced the release of eggPlant Manager v5.1 – the latest edition of its test management tool. The new release is designed to make it easier to manage a large, cross-platform test environment accessed by a large distributed team of automation and manual testers.
eggPlant Manager is a web-based test management tool that allows users to define test runs, schedule test executions for full testing automation, easily manage systems and devices-under-test, manage and co-ordinate multiple instances of eggPlant Functional, and analyze aggregated results. eggPlant Manager helps test teams to set up a continuous integration and test quickly and reliably.
Key new features in eggPlant Manager v5.1 include:
- Dynamic SUT Discovery, which allows eggPlant Manager and eggCloud to dynamically discover systems-under-test (SUT) on a local network for easy and quick access.
- Instant VM Creation, which allows new virtual machines to be created on the spot using new functionality that enables users to select from a collection of VM images.
- Integration with iOS and Android Gateways, which allows eggPlant Manager and eggCloud to automatically start the relevant gateway for an Android or iOS SUT as part of the connection process.
“This is a significant upgrade to eggPlant Manager, with several powerful new features that improve the management of large-scale test environments,” said Antony Edwards, TestPlant CTO. “Ultimately, this release is designed to help test teams to improve software quality by reducing effort, errors and execution time.”
