Stuart Coleman brings extensive industry expertise to drive EU business

London, UK – October 6, 2014 – TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, today announced that it has appointed Stuart Coleman as the company’s European Sales Director. Starting with immediate effect, Coleman assumes responsibility for TestPlant’s ambitious growth objectives across the UK and continental Europe. The role opened following Richard Ward’s move to the USA to become TestPlant’s President in the Americas.

Coleman joins TestPlant from The Open Data Institute (ODI), founded by Professor Sir Nigel Shadbolt and Sir Tim Berners-Lee, where he led a team focused on building big data related services with key digital industries. Coleman has a strong pedigree in business development, and has extensive sales experience at large enterprise software companies like CA and HP, as well as successful stints at start-up companies, including the successful EMEA launch of US company OutStart.

During his career, Coleman has closed multi-million dollar software deals and has secured key contracts with large companies such as BP, Autodesk, SAP and SAS.

“We are delighted that Stuart is joining the TestPlant team and look forward to him driving continued strong growth in our key European markets,” said George Mackintosh, TestPlant CEO. “With his mix of start-up and large company experience, he is a great fit for TestPlant, which combines the agility of a start-up with the expertise and experience required to deliver enterprise-class software testing solutions.”

“TestPlant is a very exciting opportunity for me and I’m keen to help the company keep driving the impressive growth figures that it has seen over the last few years,” said Stuart Coleman, European Sales Director, TestPlant. “The recent recognition of the company as a Visionary by Gartner is proof of TestPlant’s ambition in this sector and I’m looking forward to contributing to its success.”
