Private cloud links with eggPlant Mobile to enable access to multiple devices
Barcelona, Spain & London, UK – February 20, 2014 – TestPlant, the maker of the eggPlant range of software quality tools, will demonstrate how eggCloud can provide test departments with the ability to centralize mobile app testing across multiple mobile devices in a private cloud at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Combined with TestPlant’s mobile testing solution, eggPlant Mobile, eggCloud provides local and remote access to a centralized pool of test devices, allowing full functional testing of mobile apps on iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry, and other mobile devices.
eggCloud is secure and compliant with all industry guidelines and is designed for dedicated in-house or multi-project distributed QA teams, as well as external developer communities. Manual testers can have equal access to mobile devices via eggCloud.
In addition, eggCloud allows software quality and test departments to:
- Schedule access to specific, or groups of, devices
- Manage user authorization and access rights
- Generate management reports on user and device access frequency
- Create quotas to control the access time of specific users
- Maintain a register of devices available
- Ensure devices are “clean” and loaded with current app versions
eggPlant Mobile also makes use of the unique eggOn app, which can be installed on any Android or iOS phone to provide full control of the device from eggPlant without jailbreaking. With eggOn, developers no longer need to install third-party software or deploy complicated software development kits (SDKs) to allow full testing on real devices.
“eggCloud is a particularly compelling solution in a mobile app testing environment,” said TestPlant CEO, George Mackintosh. “eggCloud outperforms public cloud solutions by allowing enterprise test labs to take full control over testing across multiple mobile devices at much lower cost. Now both manual and automation engineers can connect to the right devices at scheduled times, which improves test productivity and reduces the number of devices required.”
TestPlant will be located at Stand 7B71 in Hall 7 at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona February 24 – 27, 2014.
