TestPlant awarded Software Exporter of the Year at SSA12

Automated software testing company recognised for strength and depth of global customer base at Software Satisfaction Awards London, UK – October 15, 2012 – TestPlant, the automated software testing company, has been recognised as Software Exporter of the Year at the annual Software Satisfaction Awards (SSAs) in London. The SSAs represent the UK’s biggest survey of business software users. This year, over 10,000 people were surveyed and the winners were selected from a shortlist based entirely on their views.

TestPlant is the company behind eggPlant, the leading visual test automation tool that allows software developers to test any application from mainframe to mobile, by looking at and interacting with the screen exactly as a real user does. “We are delighted to have received this award, which recognises the phenomenal global growth that we have achieved over the past year, including significant penetration into Asian markets, North America and beyond,” said George Mackintosh, chief executive officer of TestPlant. “After seeing such considerable growth in our global markets, we hope that UK companies will also take note of the significant advances in software testing being made by international companies in order to gain competitive advantages, both through speed and efficiency of testing and in improving the end-user experience.” eggPlant uses patented image recognition technology to “see” the screen layout, or GUI, enabling test scripts to be created simply by describing what a user would do.It is relied upon by more than 500 organizations worldwide, across mobile, finance, defense, e-commerce, and media and gaming enterprises.

“We are seeing particular growth in the use of eggPlant for the automated testing of the booming mobile applications market, in which companies are faced with the challenge of releasing apps that are stable on multiple portable devices and platforms,” said Antony Edwards, TestPlant’s chief technology officer. “For mobile apps, quality assurance is a complex, time-consuming and costly task, and this can be especially true if you rely only on manual testing or on traditional tools for testing. eggPlant changes everything by bringing test automation to the mobile market.” eggPlant is also fully integrated with leading application lifecycle management (ALM) tools including HP Quality Center and IBM Rational Quality Manager.
