Boulder, CO, Oct 2010 – In 2002 Doug and Jonathan invented a cool and novel way of testing graphic user interfaces. They called it “eggPlant”. In 2003 Mr Simons and Mr Gillaspie (above left and right) decided they should file a patent application with the US Patent and Trademark Office. And now in 2010 (eventually!) the Patent Examiner agreed that their invention be awarded a US patent.
This is a fantastic endorsement of the ingenuity of their work and a massive recognition that eggPlant has indeed broken new ground in the testing world and created a whole new approach- user-centric testing.
Abraham Lincoln said “The Patent Office added the fuel of interest to the fire of genius”. With the confidence and credibility bestowed on Testplant by the Virginia-based Patent Office, an agency of the US Department of Commerce, expect to hear a lot more about the quirkily-named test tool which was build by Doug and Jonathan in Boulder, Colorado!
