Snow Leopard eggPlant released and V4end of life notice

Dear eggPlant user,

We’ve been very busy over the last year. The focus of our work has been on building a new framework for our cross-platform versions of eggPlant – “v10”. The first fruits of that labor included the release of eggPlant for Linux in April, followed in June by the first v10 release of eggPlant for Mac. Being able to offer the same great testing solution with full script-compatibility is something about which we’re very pleased. It would not have been possible without the v10 platform.

That work continues with support for Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6) in our latest release v10.1 and the expansion of greenHouse, our online software asset management system. greenHouse allows v10 customers to download new license keys, transfer existing licenses to a new computer, manage training resources, open new case reports and check their status – online and always available.

As we announced some months ago all our future innovation will be concentrated on the v10 platform and unfortunately that comes at a cost: we will only be able to maintain the old version of the eggPlant code-base for a limited time. Specifically, support for version 4 (and earlier versions) of eggPlant will only be available until the end of September 2010.

We have a host of big improvements in store for eggPlant over the next year. We’ll be announcing new and expanded features for the existing products and expect to hear about a brand new testing platform very shortly. Glad to have you with us!

My best regards

Jonathan Gillaspie
Chief Software Architect
